Finland Supports Two-State Solution for Palestine
"Finland has joined France's declaration on advancing the two-state solution. Together with our international partners, we are sending a clear and strong message: peace in the Middle East is essential to ending human suffering," Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen stated on X.
Valtonen underscored that achieving peace is not only vital but also achievable, although it demands dedicated efforts.
“Last night, a few steps were taken in the right direction,” she mentioned, pointing to progress achieved during sessions at the ongoing UN Conference on Palestine held in New York.
The collective statement pledges its endorsers to advocate for a two-state framework, urges a swift ceasefire, the liberation of captives, and the unobstructed distribution of life-saving assistance to Gaza.
The document also underlines the necessity of the Palestinian Authority’s dedication to demilitarization and the disbanding of Hamas.
“The two-state solution concerns not only the future of Palestine but also the security of Israel,” Valtonen affirmed.
